Explore LinguaLit if you are supporting 8 - 14-year-olds not yet reading and writing at grade level. You will need the ICRWY Code Mapping Tool app.
To focus on unconstrained skills we need an all-in-one routine.

If you would like to offer an early dyslexia intervention to ensure that the children will be able to master constrained skills without difficulties please consider the ICRWY Braintree Forest Learning Approach in pre-school (2 -5) which is specifically designed to embrace neurodiversity and meet the needs of neurodivergent learners 

If you are ensuring mastery of constrained skills (the Foundation of Phonic Knowledge) in Reception and Year 1, to get children into the 'self-teaching' phase with a focus on the development of unconstrained skills before grade 2 then use the Speech Sound Pics (SSP) Approach 'Phase 1 and 2' routine. You'll need 30 minutes a day for Phase 2 phonics.

This https://www.grapheme-codemapping.com/ site (also accessed through CodeMapped.com if easier to remember!) has been set up to clearly separate Grapheme Mapping and the Code Mapping Tool used by schools, from the
Speech Sound Pics (SSP) Approach Linguistic Phonics and Spelling Programs.  
SSP is used across Australia to develop the Foundation of Phonic Knowledge in K/1, so that children go to Grade 2 reading to learn - and no longer learning to read, and as an intervention. The Speedy Six Spelling activities are used school-wide (all grades)
However, you will be teaching 'grapheme mapping' if you teach reading and spelling, as it is an essential skill, anywhere you are teaching literacy around the world! You can learn to do this without knowing anything about SSP or the Speech Sound Pics Approach 'speech to print' literacy teaching activities. This knowledge will make a huge difference to anyone teaching constrained skills (letter formation, phonics and HFWs)

The focus of this site is on grapheme mapping of words ie clearly showing the phoneme to grapheme mapping of words using 2 contrasting colours. This
Code Mapping Tool can be used for a range of purposes, regardless of how you are teaching phonics or which phonics program you are using. It is, of course, used by SSP teachers.
It is especially useful for teachers not yet familiar with the IPA and Orthographic Mapping so that they can more effectively support students not yet decoding with fluency and comprehension - and we recommend the LinguaLit routine as a QUICK way to prepare upper primary-aged students for the demands of the high school curriculum!
